Workplace Safety
Sustainable Catering Services supports the objectives of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 and Regulations and recognizes its obligations to protect all employees and non-employees at the workplace from the risk of injury and work related diseases by:
- Providing a safe place and system of work;
- Providing adequate safety equipment
- Training employees in safe operation practices, and;
- Reviewing procedures and work conditions on a continuing basis
Sustainable Catering Services holds all staff, including managers and supervisors, responsible and accountable for accident prevention and safe operating practices in areas under their control.
The purpose of this policy is to inform all employees of Sustainable Catering Services about the requirements and responsibilities of workplace health and safety and to raise awareness about these issues.
Sustainable Catering Services is committed to the following actions:
- To identify and reduce the risk of all activities that may affect the health and safety of workers, public and the community;
- To comply with applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice and standards;
- To strengthen our business by making safety an integral part of all business activities;
- To ensure that injured employees are provided with adequate rehabilitation services in order to return them to their pre-injury duties as soon as possible.
Sustainable Catering Services employees shall be responsible for:
- Working safety and observing all health and safety instructions, standards and practices;
- Using safety devices and wearing personal protective equipment as directed by their supervisor;
- Maintaining safety devices and personal protective equipment in an operational and hygienic condition at all times;
- Promptly reporting to their supervisor any work the employee believes is a work hazard or an unsafe practice; and
- The health and safety of all fellow employees and non-employees at the workplace.
Sustainable Catering Services regards ALL workplace accidents, diseases and unsafe work practices and methods as preventable.
